All Breeds Bull Sales

Market Report – 31st Annual Bull & Stud Female Sale

Saturday 27th of July 2019

Tough Market as Seasonal Conditions Hamper Buyer Confidence!

This year’s All Breeds Bull and Stud Female Sale produced a tough market for vendors, with the current dry winter and lack of feed in the upper Macleay meaning many buyers opted against replacing sires this year, while those that did were very cautious with their spending.

Of the 100 bulls that were offered, just under 60% were sold, with an overall average of $3360. The top priced bull was Four ‘O’ Eight’s Noble N8, an Angus sire from the Hughes family’s Four ‘O’ Eight Angus Stud at Macksville. This bull was sold to Tom Peterkin from Macksville, a repeat buyer of Four ‘O’ Eight bulls. In all, 31 of the 40 Angus bulls sold on the day.

Brangus bulls also met relatively strong demand, with an Inavale Brangus from the Bell Family’s Inavale Stud making $4300. The top priced Charolais was Little Valley Nero at $3200, and both Banarra Brahman’s and Riverview Brahmans stud bulls sold for $3000. Santa Gertrudis, Limousin, Hereford and Charbray bulls all sold for $3000, while the top priced Female was a Banarra Brahman heifer which sold for $2800.
